Autocad updating indexes for block

Auto CAD14 I recently wrote in message news:[email protected] a problem with one of my Lisp routines that is supposed to draw a line from the insert point of an on-screen block. It's explained in HELP under the topic "Increase Performance with Large Xrefs", as mentioned, From HELP ==================================== To realize the maximum benefits of demand loading, you need to save the referenced drawings with layer and spatial indexes. Freeze several layers of the xref, and the externally referenced drawing is saved with a layer index. If those xref-dependent layers are thawed, Auto CAD reads in that geometry from the reference drawing as required.

INDEXCTL doesn't affect the displacement problem I am experiencing.

Did you verify that the other drawing isn't referencing an xref with the same name in a different location? Command: _qsave Updating Indexes for block *Model_Space Done. I noticed that the drawing does save all my changes. and i guess i just assumed it was because of the weird saving thing its doing.. Please refer to my question about possibly having the xref being accessed from a different location.

If so, I don't think this file is the problem, something has happened between this and the drawing referencing it. so something is definately going on in the drawing. i never had any type of problem like this before This isn't out of the ordinary, this happens when the file gets allot of data in it, usually when there are allot of blocks.

Note: Clipped external references are available only in drawings created with Auto CAD Release 14 or later.

If demand loading is turned on, and you have clipped xrefs that were saved with spatial indexes, objects in the external reference database that are contained within the clip volume comprise the majority of the objects read into the drawing.
